Fenugreek Powder is ground down from whole Fenugreek seeds. Since ancient times, Fenugreek has been known as a natural galactagogue, meaning that it stimulates and optimises lactation.

Fenugreek has successfully been used for centuries for both humans and livestock. Consequently, breeders often use Fenugreek as a natural supplement for their lactating dogs, if milk is not coming in as expected after whelping.

Furthermore, Fenugreek is also an appetite stimulant and is helpful for anorexic animals or those with poor appetite. Use it using whole seeds to make a tea, or add it in powder form to food.

Dosage:

Dosages of less than 3500 mg per day have been reported to produce no effect in women. Reportedly, one way to determine if you’re taking the correct dosage is to slowly increase the amount of fenugreek until sweat, breath and urine begin to smell like maple syrup. Mothers generally notice an increase in production 24-72 hours after starting Fenugreek, but it can take two weeks for others to see a change. Some mothers do not see a change in milk production when taking fenugreek.

Usage:

Avoid use during pregnancy, as Fenugreek is a uterine stimulant, and has been used in traditional medicine to induce childbirth. Animal studies have demonstrated abortifacient effects in females and antifertility effects in males and females; whereas congenital malformations have been observed in humans as well as animals.

Our Fenugreek Powder is supplied fresh in food-grade, airtight zip-lock stand-up pouches.
